The National Regulations state the required educator-to-child ratios for education and care services. These include requirements for early childhood teachers (ECTs).
ACECQA have provided an online tool to calculate the miniumum number of educators required at a centre-based service. Note that this is a guide only.
Educators included in the ratio must be:
- working directly with children to provide education and care
- hold an approved qualification or be working towards an approved qualification, where required
Educator to child ratios required to provide adequate supervision will depend on the age and abilities of the children attending.
